Gripper control has sheet grippers (13) at free end of swing arm (12b) hinged about fixed independent axis (11). Gripper is moved by single turn rotating radial cam with rod (22) to close and open for sheet take up or transfer. Each rod (22) is linked to gripper activating hollow shaft (23) inside hollow pre-grip shaft (10). Gripper activating shaft (23) is arranged so that its axis (29) is congruent with rotational axis (11) of shaft (10).
