The grid includes slits which are formed in a metal sheet in a zigzag pattern. The metal sheet is stretched in the width direction to develop the slits. The nodes, configured between the longitudinal direction adjacent slits, are connected by four wires. The wires are bent in a predetermined oblique direction via a drawn-out portion which is drawn out from the node in the longitudinal direction. An Independent claim is also included for a method for producing a grid for a battery plate.
