The method involves performing a secret one-time communication with the cryptographic devices for which a key is used only once. The key is generated at least one key generation unit (1) and supplied by the key generation unit(s) to a transport unit (2) in which the key is written into the cryptographic devices (3). AN Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for writing cryptographic codes into signature cards, e.g. chip cards.
