The piston accumulator comprises an annular space (11) which is filled with liquid and located between the piston wall and accumulator housing (2). The annular space is connected to a filling tube (10) which in turn is connected to a liquid container (16). The liquid container has a sensor (12) for monitoring the liquid volume inside it. The sensor is electrically connected to a control unit (17) for transmitting the measurement signal obtained by the sensor. The piston accumulator comprises an annular space which is filled with liquid and which is located between the piston wall and the accumulator housing. The annular space is connected to a filling tube in the housing. A liquid container is directly fixed to the housing, and is connected to the filling tube. The liquid container has a sensor for monitoring the liquid volume inside it. The sensor is electrically connected to a control unit for transmitting the measurement signal obtained by the sensor. The control unit cooperates with an optical and/or acoustic warning device (13), which in the event of an incorrect liquid volume, is activated by the control unit.
