The method involves separately filtering two beam formed signals using a filter with two taps and combining the two signals in response to two sequential pulses. The filtering process applied to each of the beamformed signals is different from the other and comprises applying a set of data responsive to first transmit pulse at the two taps to provide frequency dependent amplitude weightings or phase shifts. An Independent claim is also included for a system for generating information responsive to pulse sequences.
