The engine mount (10) has an elastic member (16) which at least partially define an orifice passage (74,76) that permits fluid communication between the fluid chambers (70,72). The elastic member is subjected to shear deformation as a result of the increase of fluid pressure acting on the passage so that the cross sectional area of the passage is increased as the acting fluid pressure increases.
