Method for defining the susceptibility of a computer system (30) to attack has the following steps: definition of an attack that will demonstrate the attack susceptibility; specification of one or more properties of the attack; and specification of a counter-measure to the attack. The method can be used with one or more attach susceptibility scanning applications and the results stored in a data storage unit so that they can be syntactically analyzed and organized.
