The method involves measuring field strength in the magnet bore at fixed number of points within a volume of large and small images. The field inhomogeneity is then found by comparing it with the peak-to-peak field measured between highest and lowest values of all measured points. Adjusting the location of main and buckling coils, and currents in correction coils is done.
