Process for refining molten glass comprises encouraging bubble formation after leaving melting chamber using combined interaction on glass melt, and driving off bubbles larger than 0.1-0.5 mm in diameter. Device for performing process is lined with materials such as platinum, platinum alloys, finely ground or dispersion-stable platinum or its alloys or other materials containing precious metals. An Independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out process.
