The lever latch (3) has a second contour (9) for securing the tensile cable part (10) of the Bowden cable (4). The second contour is offset relative to the first contour (7) at an angle to the closure rotation direction of the lever latch, so that rotating this latch moves the second contour into a space inside the lock casing defined by a casing end wall and the optionally open casing base. A lock (1) secured to the vehicle bodywork comprises a roller catch (2), lever latch and Bowden cable for remotely operating this latch. The roller catch cooperates with a lock bracket (5) secured to the boot.
