The luggage compartment is constructed as a rocker (12) in the form of a two-arm lever which pivots on a horizontal hinge point (13). The rocker consists of a front wall (15) which forms one section of the lever, while the other part of the lever is formed from at least the bottom wall (16) and rear wall (17). A cover wall (19) is connected to the rear wall and also connected to the front wall. Two parallel sidewalls are connected to the other walls. At least one compressed gas spring (18) is installed between an inner wall profile (20) fixed to the vehicle and the pivotable part of the rocker.
