The coupling muff (2) for an installation fitting creates a connection between a key rod (3) of the fitting and spindle of a valve or slide. Aligning elongated holes are provided in the wall of the sockets (4,5) for the spindle or rod and into which protrudes a captive self-locking pin to create a connection. The pin interacts with a clamp which when the pin is fitted grips round the outer wall of the coupling muff. The clamp has the shape of a circle arc, with the free ends of the clamp bent out to form slide faces.
