Device for detection of mechanical forces comprises a detection plate (8) for detection of applied forces and at least two electrodes (1,2) in electrical contact with the plate. The plate has at least two partially overlapping measurement layers (3, 4), the electrical properties of which are changed by the application of a force. The two layers have different material properties so that their response to an applied force is different.
