The front end (1) for especially handlebars (3) of bicycles has an insert which hides the open gap between the front end tube and transverse hole for the handlebar housing. A cut-out in the front end and a raised section in the insert enables a form-locking connection between the insert and front end. The insert consists in the main of a soft material and consists at least partially of a rubber or plastic material. The insert can consist at least partially of fiber-reinforced plastic. Independent claims are included for a two-wheeler or three-wheeler with the said front end, and for a watercraft with the said front end.
