The bicycle sidecar has a joint provided for the connecting coupling to the bicycle, and the sidecar has a running on, rotatable and collapsible support wheel (3). The size of the load surface of the sidecar corresponds exactly to a commercially available folding shopping box. By the low load surface and resulting low center of gravity of the sidecar the load and unloading is simple and safe. Independent claims are included for the following: (a) the connecting coupling; (b) the assembly of the connecting coupling; (c) the pivot bearing for the coupling; (d) the freedom of movements and function of the support wheel; (e) the capability of a commercially available folding shopping box to the carried along in the sidecar.
