The installation for ventilating a room (1) involves air inlets arranged distributed over and issuing into the room. The air inlets are activatable individually or in groups so that one or more areas of the room can be ventilated selectively. An air storage space feedable with air is provided and the air inlets (3) are in flow connection with it. The inlets are formed as apertures for selective opening or closure. A single blower feeds air to the storage space. The air inlets are closable by several lamellas and can be formed as sections of the room ceiling. Above the room, the air storage space covers the air inlets in the manner of a hood. In or near the bottom of the room air outlets (4) are provided, connectable to a suction plant. They are closable or openable in areas.
