An electromagnetic switching/control device has an armature (22) which is movably arranged in a housing (10) and forms a positioning or control section (28). A fixed coil device (16) is provided in the housing for cooperating with the armature. A yoke element (18) is fixed in the housing at one end of the coil device, and a core device (12) is fixed at the other end of the coil device. The housing (10) which is shaped as a sleeve-shaped sheet metal part, has a notch (30) limiting the axial movement of the annular yoke element in the housing and formed on the wall-face molding of the housing (10).
