The cover hood for temporary high water protection has an integrated increased damming facility (1) and comprises two parts, a water-side inner piece (2) and a land-side outer piece (3). Both the inner and outer pieces have an L-shaped bent cross-section. The long leg (4), in the ratio of approximately one to two thirds is so bent at an angle of approximately 45 degrees that this inclination points in the opposite direction as the shorter leg (5). The short leg of the inner piece and that of the outer piece are joined together in parallel and on a full surface basis. The thus produced cover hood in its transversal form has a trapezoidal profile, which corresponds to the transversal profile or a customary high water protective dam.
