The system to compost and dry waste organic material, and especially bio-sludge, has a ground support (2) with side walls (1) with various ventilation channels (4) embedded in the compost (3). A cover (5) shrouds the whole compost pile, using a transparent material (6) supported on a carrier frame (7), leaving the end sides (9) open. A defined air space (8) is formed between the compost and the cover frame.
