The tool is particularly for digging out deeply rooted weeds and comprises a metal tube (1) slightly inclined (2) at its open end, with its edge (3) effecting a cutting function. On the periphery of the tube end are two grooves (4) opposite to each other. The axial position of the grooves in the tube makes possible the easy removal by hand of an earth plug from the tool. The tool grip (6) makes possible an easy work process without great force input. The open tube end above the grip is provided with a cover cap (5), which protects the hand inner surface of the user and provides an easier support of the tool when being pressed into the ground.
