The stackable container (1) comprises a body (2) and an upper (3) and a lower base (4) which differ in size so that one bottom lies on a support surface (7) formed on the other bottom. The body over the greatest part of its length extends between the upper and lower bases perpendicularly to them, and the body has a cross sectional variation limited to a zone with a length which equals at most five times the size of the cross sectional variation. The aforesaid zone may be divided into at least two sub-zones (8,9). The zone or sub-zones are adjacent to a base.
