The bottle opener for removing especially crown corks comprises two bars (A,B) mounted in a broken-through base component (C), and by their symmetrical arrangement in the broken-through opening (D) enable the removal of the crown cork. The crown cork may be lifted by pulling upwards on the lever, whereby on bar (A) acts as a support and rotational axis and the other bar (B) functions as a gripper under the edge of the crown cork. The crown cork may be lifted by pressing downwards on the lever, whereby the roles of the bars are reversed.
