The decorative stone ground covering, particularly of the compound type, uses at least two types of shaped stones, i.e. rectangular stones and corner stones laid to form at least one regular octagonal ring. To form the decorative feature, several octagonal rings are laid concentrically to each other. The octagonal rings are laid around an octagonal central ring. The angular corner stones are composed of two, particularly symmetrical, part stones. The rectangular stones between corner stones are assembled together to form one-piece units. All the stones have different colors and decorative patterns.
