The printer may be set up to print in standard DIN A5, A4, A3, or A2 format, with the printout in portrait or landscape format. The puzzle carrier is of standard DIN A5, A4, A3, or A2 format, and the bas-relief pattern is nearly invisible to the naked eye. A scanner connected to the printer senses the small variations of level of the surface and causes the printer to operate where the level is low. The pattern has a low edge (1) and some raised portions toward the center of the puzzle picture (2).
