The hinge (1) has a double hinge bearing (6, 7) and the hinge pin extends through the hinge block (4) to protrude on either side of it. A hinge bearing is associated with both of these free ends, the first hinge bearing (6) being provided on the downwards-pointing free end and including a hinge plate with a hole in it, whilst the second hinge bearing (7) is mounted on the upwards-pointing free end and is releasably connected to the second part (3) of the hinge for securing to the leaf. The second hinge bearing is provided with a safety pin (9) which can be passed through the hole in the hinge plate. The hinge has a first part (2) securable to a hinge block (4) containing a hinge pin. A hinge bearing is associated with the second part of the hinge.
