The construction element for a balcony extension (5) consists of a capping element with a frame of metal profiles covering the whole balcony surface. The capping element has mounting straps (10) facing the wall (2) , compact bearings in the outer support points, and is covered by a tread surface. The frame consists of U-form metal profiles, and several stabilizing profiled struts (8) are installed between the individual frame elements (7,7.1). The frame consists of rectangular shaped hollow profiles.
