A window shutter descends from a spindle located within a cassette above a window. The cassette has an approx. cylindrical mantle with end-covers concealing the spindle (8) bearing-panel (10). The cassette mantle (4) end-zones incorporate inspection hatches over the spindle ends and bearing-panel (10). The bearing panel esp. incorporates one or more apertures which provide access for the insertion and removal of screw fittings.
