The shelving system (10) is assembled of at least two vertical support bars (14), each provided with at least one row of slots for the insertion of hooks positioned at the rear of the carrying elements (12, 13), a number of standard carrying elements (12), a number of the new design of carrying elements (13) and the appropriate amount of shelves (17). The new design of carrying elements (13) is of a similar shape as the standard element (12) but is additionally provided with a vertical extension at the top, serving as an abutment for the upper hook and raising the level of the upper surface (15) used for the positioning of the board (17).
