The carrier can be fixed with few manipulations inside a vehicle or on its load surface, and this is enabled by universally adjustable and rotatable mountings (F) so that a bicycle can be fastened to a yoke in any desired position. The two aluminum rails (A,B) of the carrier which are movable in relation to each other can be each fixed at the desired length by clamping screws (D). In one of the two rails is located a clamping yoke by which an upright can be firmly fixed in the desired position by means of an adjustable thread and a throw-over locking lever (E).
