The safety crank consists of a brake housing (1) in which is installed a drive component (3). A brake shoe (9) is located inside a free space between a locally flattened surface section of the drive component and the brake housing, and between the brake housing and locking roller (11) or ball which is located on a inner rolling surface (8) or rolling track groove of the flattened surface of the drive component. The brake shoe on the inside has an outer rolling surface (10) concentric to its outer contour for the locking roller or rolling track groove.
