The fastening system for panel-form construction elements laid partially overlapping in shingle form on a sloping roof has in addition to longitudinal supports (30,32,34,36) side supports (24,28) extending in the longitudinal direction on both side edges of a construction element. The side supports are connected by tensioning rails which lie in the edge region on the upper side of the panel-form element. Cross members (38) are provided in the overlap region between two elements, and sealing sections of weatherproof elastomer material lie upon the construction element under the tensioning rails and above and below the cross members.
