The glass construction element (1) has an upper (2) panel component installed over a lower (3) panel component. A protruding edge section (8,9) is formed on the upper panel component along two adjacent side edges (6,7), and the protruding edge sections are beveled in a corner region which is adjacent to a side edge without a protruding edge section. A non-beveled sub-section (12,13) of the protruding edge section is formed in the respective corner region. An independent claim is included for a glass cladding for the roof or facade construction with an arrangement of glass construction elements.
