A servo operated gate for a process line has a pneumatic drive with a pressure monitor in the supply line. An object, or person, jamming the door closing sequence causes a rise in the air supply. Due to the compressibility of the air/gas this can be a significant pressure rise which makes the detection and corrective actions simple and failsafe. Either the drive is immediately removed, or it can be reversed. Another feature is that the door can be opened manually on servo failure.
