The warehouse arrangement has through shelves (31) on both sides of a through passage (30) with superimposed compartments (32) for receipt of piece goods (23), the bases (33) of the compartments sloping away from the passage. A roller track (20) is provided for the piece goods to be stored, which in its end areas is held at points, which via deflector rollers held above the shelves are fed to cable drums (35), which via a common shaft (36) are connected with a drive (37). The vertical sections of the cable run in front of the side walls of the compartments, so that insertion of piece goods in teh compartments is securely prevented.
