The thick door (1) has an aperture (3) accommodating a thin panel or transparent glass or plastics pane (2). Two hollow plastics profile strips (4a,4b) grip the edge of the aperture and engage the edge of the insert panel. There may be sealing strips (11). A plastics clamping strip with sawtooth teeth engages in grooves (6) in the plastics strips to hold them together.
