The method involves cooling fuel to reduce the high thermal value that arises from combustion of the fuel-air mixture, whereby thermal expansion of the air mass (reduction of oxygen content) is prevented and an increase in power results from the higher degree of filling of the combustion chamber and the consequently more efficient combustion. An independent claim is also included for the following: a method of burning a fuel-air mixture in a 4-stroke petrol or diesel engine.
