A socket wrench with ratchet has the profiled drive ring (30) and the ratchet (50) and direction selector (60) located in a recess in the head of the wrench. The drive mechanism is secured between two oil sealing rings, with one flat ring (11) pressed against a retaining lip (211) and the other ring (10) with an L-shaped cross section secured into the sealing position, in a groove (212) inside the recess, by a circlip (40). The fitting has minimal play and enables a precise operation of the wrench.
