Said sensor is fixed to the measurement point with a sleeve or belt that provides means for applying a force towards the measurement point. Said sensor comprises a fluid filled sealed chamber with a membrane side that is applied to the wrist. The membrane is deformed with the pulse beat. A pressure transducer is provided to measure the pressure within the chamber and a light barrier detects deflection of the membrane.
