A grill plate for a barbeque comprises two cast metal plates linked by a hinge (7) and with profiled cooking surfaces facing each other. The plates are provided half circular stub axles (8) which together form a swivel mounting of the plates inside a circular support frame (1) with an L-shaped edge profile. The system is moved via two handles (2) on the support frame. The grill is used on the barbeque, or is heated on the coals sufficiently to cook the food using the stored heat. The cooking surfaces are profiled to drain fat away from the food.
