The cleaning system for the removal of liquid and solid deposits on the bottom and/or side sections of containers has a cleaning unit which comprises at least one rotatable brush (2) located in the feed direction (5) of the container and below a feed unit (1). The brush has bristles with different lengths and/or rigidity. The brushes are located one behind the other in the direction of feed, and the brushes can tip around the horizontal surface. The transporting unit is formed by two parallel-guided conveyor belts (1a,1b) which carry the containers yet keep their bottoms (3) free.
