The metal mounting for an alternative refueling adaptor consists of a neck section (17) for inserting in the filler neck of the tank and supported on the upper edge (13) of the filler neck by an encompassing flange (18) formed on the upper end. Holes are provided in the wall of the neck section to receive fastening screws (23) for an exchange mounting of the adaptor (14) on the neck section. An independent claim is included for a fuel tank made of synthetic material and equipped with the proposed mounting.
