Rapid coupling jet for fire hose has a threaded self locking grip with spring loaded grip studs

A rapid coupling jet fitting onto the end of a fire hose is positioned on the outside of the control valve. This enables the fireman to change from water to foam, or vice versa, without having to shut off the water feed to the hose. The coupling has four spiral grooves (7) for a simple twist action to fit the selected jet. Sprung studs on the jet engage recesses (10) in the coupling flange for an automatic self locking action. The entry profiles of the spiral grooves are tapered for ease of fitting. To remove the jet it is pulled inwards and twisted in the release direction.
