Quick binder for self-compacting concrete, use and applications of such a binder.

A quick binder for self-compacting concrete comprises (in dry wt.%): (i) Portland cement 70-90; (ii) calcium aluminate 4-16; (iii) calcium sulfate (anhydrite) 4-14; (iv) hydrated lime 0-2; and (v) an accelerator, retarder and at least one additive containing a water reducer comprising at least one super-plasticizer in the form of a water-soluble/dispersible organic compound carrying at least one amino-di(alkylene phosphonic) group and polyoxyalkylated chain, or its salt(s). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) the use of the quick binder as above in self-compacting concrete having a compression resistance of 8 MPa after a minimum of 6 hours, preferably 4 hours, and at least 24 MPa after 24 hours, with a workability of at least one hour, preferably 1-2 hours; (2) self-compacting concrete made with a quick binder as above and having properties as described in (I); and (3) the application of the quick binder for self-compacting concrete as above for filling up by pumping and/or pouring to provide temporary support for work such as e.g. tunnels and galleries; or for urgent repairs of damaged work; at ambient temperatures of 10-35 deg C.
