The invention concerns a graphic acquisition method for placement of signal processing applications designed for a machine comprising passive resources and active resources. It comprises at least the following steps: a) displaying in a first screen zone an Archi view representing in the form icons the available active or passive resources of the machine architecture for a given level Li and the links between the resources, in a global model and/or in a local model; b) constructing the signal processing application in a second screen zone forming an Appli View , by taking one or several icons representing resources of the Archi View , the two steps a) and b) are performed hierarchically using finer and finer successive views of the machine architecture.
