The forest fire fighting water tank for a helicopter has four cables for attachment to the helicopter and connected at four points to the tank. A display (28) on the casing (27) shows that the valve (5) is closed. A remote control circuit uses a twelve volt battery (31). A push button control can reverse the operation of a motor which actuates the valve.
