Testing (M1) the behavior of fri/fri mice treated with a compound (I) being tested for activity against Parkinson's disease and/or Parkinsonian syndrome comprising evaluating: (a) akinesia; (b) shaking (frequency and/or amplitude); (c) rigidity and instability of posture; and (d) changes in cognitive function in an object recognition test, is new. Akinesia is assessed in rolling rod, bar-walking, inclined slope, hanging to suspended thread, and path-walking tests, and from locomotor activity in an open space test. Rigidity and instability of posture is assessed in walking and righting tests and from speed of movement in an open space test. An Independent claim is also included for screening many (I) by (M1).
