An ultrasonic receiver and transmitter are attached to an autochanger. A processor controls the retrieval of a desired component by controlling a drive system using a feedback loop which is controlled by the signal emitted/received by the ultrasonic transmitter and receiver, respectively. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) Method for retrieving desired media from media autochanger; and (2) Media autochanger for storing several media.
