The shoe sole (2) has a rounded solid heel portion (4) and a split toe portion (3). There is a rounded solid portion and an arcuate split (8) between the solid portion and the solid portion and the two curved tongues (6a,6b). The ends of the tongues (10a,10b) overlap. Flanges (9a,9b) on the upper parts of the tongues have holes (11a,11b) which accommodate rivets which may engage in one of an array of holes in the solid portion.
