The decorative component (3) includes openings (6) in the rear face contacting the base (2). On the other side of this opening an abutment (5) contacts the opposite face of the decorative component and is produced with the base section, as a molding. The abutment is the shoulder part of a simulated fastening. It is connected to the base by a constricted section passing through each opening. An Independent claim is included for the method of manufacture. The decorative component is placed in a mold. Each of its openings (6) faces a cavity which molds the simulated fastening. Plastic is injected into the mold. This forms the base and fastenings. The decorative component is gripped tightly between the base and the abutments or shoulders of the fastenings.
