The holder for positioning the head (2) of a joint prosthesis has a tube (6) of cylindrical shape. The inner wall of the tube retains the head of the joint prosthesis in a preset angular position. One end of the tube has an elastic guide for positioning on the joint insert or the support. The other end has an opening to allow insertion of a pusher tool (12) to allow transfer of the prosthesis head into the cavity.
